Crisis Intervention Team (CIT)  

Help people who help people.

ECWIT manages and supports actors interested in volunteering as Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) actors, collaborating with the Eau Claire Police Department in their de-escalation training for law enforcement officers and first responders.  

CIT actors portray people in crisis situations where mental health diagnoses may also be in play. Scenarios are provided and delivered to area law enforcement and first responders who have completed a week of  CIT classroom training delivered by the Eau Claire Police Department. CIT actors use acting and improv skills to create a realistic experience where participants can safely proctice what they have learned under the support and guidance of CIT coaches.
